Overseas Pakistanis Examine Current Status of Human Rights at Tampa Conference

The Friends of Pakistan, Tampa, FL, a community group of concerned Pakistani-Americans hosted a half-day conference to discuss the ongoing political crisis, constitutional and economic crisis in their country of origin.

The event, organized at the Oval Theater of University of South Florida inn Tampa,  featured speakers, including PTI leaders Dr. Shahbaz Gill, PTI spokesman Raoof Hasan, senior journalist Dr Moeed Pirzada, Uzair Younus of Atlantic Council, Dr Salman Ahmad, Dr Hasan Abbas and Arif Ansar.

Organizers of the event included Dr Mohammad Munir Khan, Khalid Munawar, Dr Mohammad Tariq, Dr Khizer Shaukat, Dr Mirajuddin Khan, Professor M. Idrees, Mrs Sadia Ali, Nadeem Zaman, Imtiaz Ranjha and strategic advisory firm PoliTact.

More than 300 Pakistani Americans from different parts of Florida, and other states including Texas and Michigan attended the event which featured insightful and candid conversation on Pakistan’s ongoing crisis.
