Senior analyst, author, and journalist Imtiaz Gul fears that the government of Shahbaz Sharif is in no mood to accept the Supreme Court’s landmark verdict, which has ordered an election in Punjab province on May 14. “The government’s intentions seem not good,” he says, and fears that Pakistan could witness more political instability in the coming days. He appeals to Pakistan’s army chief General Asim Munir and the judiciary to save Pakistan from more political instability by not joining any plot that will derail the country’s quasi-democracy. He particularly urges the military to support the judiciary to implement its verdict.
