Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy Explains How the Establishment and Elite are Robbing Pakistan

By Admin

Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy is one of Pakistan’s most distinguished nuclear physicists and activists who serves as a professor at Forman Christian College and previously taught physics at Quaid-e-Azam University. Known for his blunt, honest and straightforward opinion and being an upright maverick, thinker, and activist, Hoodbhoy is widely respected in Pakistan and abroad. He sits with senior analyst and author Imtiaz Gul to explain what ails Pakistan. “Pakistan has been destroyed by its establishment,” Hoodbhoy says. He explains in great detail how Pakistan’s education system has been compromised and why it is lagging in innovation and technology. He also criticizes the country’s civil-military elite for mercilessly robbing the resources.

Dr. Hoodbhoy is known for his work on nuclear disarmament, education reform, and promoting science and technology in Pakistan. He has also been an outspoken critic of extremism and religious fundamentalism and has written extensively on these topics in both English and Urdu.

In recognition of his contributions to science and education, Dr. Hoodbhoy received numerous awards and honors, including the UNESCO Kalinga Prize for the Popularization of Science in 2003 and the Joseph A. Burton Award from the American Physical Society in 2010.
