Pakistani-American Dr. Kashif Ansari Receives Pride of Performance Award

A Graduate of Dow Medical College's 1992 batch, Dr. Ansari moved to the US many years ago and earned name and respect both in the US and Pakistan. A known philanthropist, he has offered free treatment to patients in Pakistan, especially for thalassemia treatment and blood donation.

The government of Pakistan has conferred the President’s Award for Pride of Performance upon Dr. Kashif Ansari, a Houston-based Pakistani-American oncologist, with a specialty in bone marrow transplant, for showing excellence in the field of medicine and serving the country.

The Pride of Performance is the highest national literary award of Pakistan and is bestowed to recognize people with “notable achievements in the field of art, science, literature, sports, and nursing. Dr Ansari joins a handful of Pakistani Americans who have been honored with the award.

A Graduate of Dow Medical College’s 1992 batch, Dr. Ansari moved to the US many years ago and earned name and respect both in the US and Pakistan. A known philanthropist, he has offered free treatment to patients in Pakistan, especially for thalassemia treatment and blood donation. “A total of 130 million people have benefited from his services in the last few years,” said a report in The News International.

Dr Ansari is the founder and CEO of DOW Healtcare Inc., a Houston-based healthcare management company, offering services such as staffing, management, billing and construction. He is credited with creatinng the state of the art emergency rooms, urgent cares and acute hospitals systems.

Ansari doesn’t wear just one hat of being a ace oncologist. The community in Houston and his followers in Pakistan and beyod also knnow him for his crisp commenntraies on Pakistanni cricket and even television production.

His Ansari Films media company is collaborating with a Turkish company to produce a long serial on Salehuddin Ayoubi, one of the greatest gennerals in Islamic history. Ansari says the serial is being produced to introduce to the new generation real heroes and the identity of the greats in Islamic history.

“Pakistan has given me identity, love, and respect and now he wants to do something for the new generation of this country and it is important that the new generation knows its true heroes,” Dr. Kashif told a reception hosted in Islamabad for him as well as Nawab Kazim Ali Khan of Rampur, India. Director Pakistan International Human Rights and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Shumaila Israr Siddiqui, who was also present on the occasion, said Dr. Kashif was her elder brother and a role model, and she was proud of him.

Dr. Ansari’s honnor has excited his friends and followers in North America as well.

“I am so excited to share that my dear friend /Brother Dr Kashif Ansari has been awarded Pride Of Performance by President Of Pakistan few hours ago,” wrote Hosuton-based Faisal Masood, himmself a doctor, o his Facebook page hours after Dr. Ansari was honord. “His selfelss work for others is well known to many people across the world,” Masood wrote while payinng tributes to Ansari.

Accordinng to Dr Masood, Ansari’s Omair Sana Foundation has been helping and providing free care to countless people who are suffering from THALESSEMIA. “He and his family support lots of Organization in Houston especially DAR-US Sakina dedicated to chidren with disabilities . He loves cricket and is loved by many people around the world. He is not only pride of pakistan but also pride of Houston/Texas and USA.”
