Imtiaz Gul debates the logic of rewarding the generals and other officers of the Pakistan Army and top officials in bureaucracy with prime lands in the four provinces. Lands of many such officers have been included in the country’s (or maybe the military’s) ever-growing appetite for DHA (Defence Housing Authority), turning these generous rewards into multi-million and many a time multi-billion rupees worth of properties. He raises the question if this practice of rewarding the retiring red tapes sustainable and for how long?
