Adeel Rana has made history, by becoming the first Pakistani-American deputy inspector of the New York Police Department. Rana has been promoted from the post of precinct commanding officer.

This promotion making me the First #Pakistani #American to achieve this rank in #NYPD History!,” wrote Rana on his Facebook page and a Tweet, announcing his historic promotion.
Last year, Rana made history by becoming the first Muslim police officer to be appointed as a local precinct commander in the New York Police Department.
Rana is hugely popular and well-respected in the New York-based Pakistani-American community. He has inspired a new generation of Pakistani-American youth which is increasingly joining the city’s police force.
